I agree with that, but they wouldn't look half as nice if the lady in question hadn't also had great legs and ankles.
I think the Victorians were the last bunch of people who truly appreciated the form of a female ankle. It's been all about the legs since then.

Not sure how our London friends will feel about this, but I find myself simultaneously thrilled and depressed by London fashion. So many people willing to take it to the edge, to take the risk of looking like they have thought out how they look. In neutral, I'm still charmed by the British shabby look. It seems to be a generational thing. Correct me someone if I'm getting this wrong, but there was a time when people didn't want to look resplendent, when they were embarrassed by show, when they were proud of their scuffed shoes and sweaters worn thin at the elbows, a style you tend to see among older folks these days. And then there is the depressing long left tail: people who have access to Topshop and the like, but don't know how to mix and match and don't know what size fits their bodies. If you don't have a sense of style, you're better off being at The Gap or K-Mart or Walmart.

Cheers,

BB

Well BB, There is a lot of psychology involved in how we dress. Studies show that people actually want to dress to the norm of the group they identify with. Upwardly mobile middle classes particularly like to dress for show. Oddly enough this breaks down among the rich for who clothes takes on less importance. I wouldn’t be too judgmental about how others dress. We all dress for our own needs whether or not we even understand those needs.
