jolie jaune

This colour is growing on me...

Perhaps it's the flashing contrast created when a bisque shift is worn with metallic accessories... or maybe it's because Jil Sander had a few stunning yellow pieces in her last lineup... or it could just be that I saw Little Miss Sunshine tonight and am feeling cheery. Whatever the reason, yellow fever is running rampant in the fashion world (check the cruise collections), and I'm happily infected. This is the only shade I've really avoided for most of my style-conscious life, but come spring I'll be dressing more like the girl above. What is your opinion?

update: It's catching on in London too, but what I really love in this picture (click on the link to see) are the motorcycle boots! Not surprising, given my bootaholic tendencies...

When I see yellow, I think of Nicole Richie. She's always wearing something yellow. To my mind, the key to this look is the contrast, as you said. I prefer to chose another color, plain yellow doesn't suit me... But I have to admit, the DVF dress is fabulous...

Hey, good to see yer back:-)

I got a pair of silver winkle-pickers for xmas and been wondering to what colour I could wear them to avoid looking like fried chicken...:-) So acidy citrus is sounds like a sensible colour choice.

I've been also in yellow lately. There's a little foulard in H&M with printed lemmons so, so, so cute.

I like more of a pastel yellow with light gray, silver or white, but that ensemble is lovely. It's so simple but eye catching.

I have been having the same yellow fever for quite a while now. For me, it started when I saw the Jil Sander yellow top and black skirt combo. It's such a refreshing color.

slowly, however quite surely, yellow has been wedging itself into my realm of possibility. it was always a colour that put me off a bit, but now i just think it so fresh and young.

I have been obsessed with yellow, ever since I got this amazing yellow and gray striped shirt. What I love about yellow is that it is such a bold color, it makes any outfit more interesting. Oh and I adore your blog, so I linked you.

I just got back from Paris and Lyon and what a delight it was to see so many people on the streets that could have easily been featured in your blog.

Of course, I gave in (gladly) to the francophone culture and purchashed too pairs of flat boots in Lyon with laces up the back and over the knee cuffs that can be folded down pirate style, left up over the knee (pirate hooker style ;) or folded into the boots. Three boots in one, the French are genius!

(PS the boyfriend almost purchased a yellow sweater in Paris. C'est chouette!)

Bonne Annee!

I avoid yellow like the plague, but it's only becaue I'm blonde. I think that mustard is actually a damn hot shade, and I have a pair of mustard suede pumps that I wear all the time, but my foot is as close as yellow will ever get to my face.

I love yellow, my sis is been wearing a yellow sweater that looks just so good...

DVF dress is cute, it slightly reminds me a Mexican dress, with all the intricate pattern...

I love the DVF dress, it's almost ugly but is still arresting and elegant.

And yes to yellow! I wear it even though I'm blonde. I have a yellow trench from Banana Republic's winter 2004 collection and I adore it... at least in Paris no one else has it and it's so different from all the black overcoats.

Little Miss Sunshine was a story with a message. Olive loved her family, no matter how dysfunctional, loved life, real life not the “airbrushed shit”, and loved herself, despite the violaceous nips that tear. She was the perfect beauty, the true saint.

Of course, the compliment of violet is yellow. Yellow as the sun, yellow as a saint’s halo. I think it might feel nice this spring to wear yellow, a color of hope, a color of life, a color of love, a sartorial sign of saintliness.

I too, not immune to nips that tear, this spring will wear a rich saffron linen shirt with style and grace. I think I shall secretly feel in life affirming solidarity with all others wearing yellow.

Yellow isn't a colour that I'm drawn to if I'm shopping, but I guess since I've never tried it, I don't know if I'd suit it! I think it's easy to get yellow wrong - on the wrong complexion it can look awful.

I think if the yellow is incorporated into a print like that dress, I'd wear it, but by itself like the shirt above, I wouldn't dare. I'm starting to like yellow accesories a lot, like shoes and head bands.

I am loving yellow right now! It all started last summer with a yellow sweater....

This is random but I need to ask you about a bag.
That is, I need to know if it exists, an dI thought you might know. I feel like I've seen it. Here's what I'm thinking: it's yellow Epi Leather, I think it's Louis, maybe an Alma, maybe Noé. Does this exist? I really want a yellow Epi leather bag. I looked at Lancel's at LV's sites just now and didn't see any. Am I making it up or does such a bag exist?? Any idea?
