fiercely fashionable fracas

You know a collection is a major hit when the party-goers of Paris elect to wear it out to a cocktail fete on the day of its debut. The collection in question here is Viktor & Rolf for H&M, and it landed on racks earlier today- but only stayed there for a moment or two before being snatched up by velocious femmes with very sharp fingernails and a willingness to pull hair. I was traumatized by the Stella McCartney experience last time round and didn't mind being in an H&Mless city during today's mayhem, but I hear from other, braver femmes that the "sweet + chic" dresses were the key choices from this collection. Les Parisiennes seem to agree:

I love this newly V&R outfitted femme right down to her T-strap shoes (and the empty wine glass in one corner). Who thinks of wearing tartan leggings with a chic black dress- particularly when the front is decorated with white edged ruffles? More importantly, how does she manage to pull it off? Viktor and Rolf would be proud. More can be found at facehunter.

grrr, am i allowed to hate someone for having got her hands on the V&R? i guess i was too much of a puss to face the madness, so i can only blame myself for being V+R/H&M-less.

Hah, norwegian papers report of of a realitively dull reaction to the collection from the fashionistas. Unlike the Lagerfeld collection crazyness, where lines were formed upto a block or two, this time, there were merely 70 people or so, waiting, outside the H&M store in our most fashion aware street, here in oslo. It's really sad that the only thing drawing people is a highly renowned name, known Everywhere, unlike V&R, that to people here, sounds cryptic.

Somebody explain me why are people buying the V&R for H&M clothes!?. The clothes are not that cute, I insist, they remind me of a eighties wedding going wrong and they are far cry of the beautiful spring 2007 collection they presented on the runway...
